Digital Scrapbook Service
We can create albums for you - find out how!
Becoming a digital scrapbooker has been a gradual process for me. I’ve been scrapbooking with paper for over a decade. We bought our first digital camera four years ago, and I started using the computer to crop and enhance photographs. Then I got a 13x19” printer, and I started laying out a lot of my 12x12 pages digitally first, then printing the journaling on cardstock, cropping and printing out photos the right sizes, and adding embellishments afterwards. My husband would say to me “why don’t you just design the whole thing on the computer and then print out the finished layout?”…but I couldn’t put down all the fun papers and embellishments! But eventually…the work of gifted digital designers won out and I converted! I love all the beautiful backgrounds and brushes that are available. As I completed digital pages using these elements, I felt tons more creative and productive than I had with paper scrapping…and I could do it anywhere! Some things I love about digital: everything is so accessible; the undo button; I can make paper the EXACT color I want; brushes!; the huge number of papers and kits that are available for immediate download at such reasonable prices; and I still get to collect and organize stuff! An extra bonus is that I have connected with my husband, John, in new ways. He is my #1 resource for all things computer-related!

We live in Virginia with two cats…and eight teenage girls! John and I work together as Teaching Parents for troubled teenagers. We teach social and independent skills and provide a consistent support system for the girls. We work as a team twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, with eight twenty-four hour periods off a month. We love it! We get to witness adolescent girls becoming women…not always a peaceful transition, but always stimulating, challenging, and growth-filled (for us and them!). I take pictures of them like crazy, scrapbook their lives, and teach them how to record their moments and memories…I love sharing my favorite pastime with the girls.

I’ve had layouts published in Creating Keepsakes and Simple Scrapbooks. I was a 2005 Creating Keepsakes Hall of Fame Honorable Mention. Some of my recent digital work will be featured in the upcoming Simple Scrapbooks Digital 4 issue.

Some of my other interests include: being outside, taking photographs, reading, practicing yoga (to compensate for long hours in front of my laptop!), going for walks, hanging out with cats & other furry critters, writing, organizing stuff (I know…strange!), and being with our friends and families.

Thank you, Cory, for joining us this month! We're grateful that you are willing to share your uniqueness and creativity with us!

And, in case you missed her...here's our October designer:
Katja Kromann!
Hi, my name is Katja Kromann. I am married and have a son, who is almost 4 years old. I have been scrapbooking since 2003.

If I had to describe my style right now, I would say that it is eclectic and has lots of color.

Lately I am very inspired by the influences of art journaling. I love to play with handwriting, shapes, stitching, and funky lines on my layouts. Lots of different colors and little touches are other trademarks of those influences.

I have recently taken up digital scrapbooking and enjoy it very much. I like the versatility you can get when scrapbooking digitally. You never run out of ‘e’s when using alpha embellishments and the ability to customize shapes, colors and sizes of digital elements is so fascinating to me.

We'd like to add that we're so happy that Katja joined us this month. She's full of creative ideas and whether you scrap with paper, your computer, or both, her artwork is sure to inspire you. See for yourself at her Two Peas gallery! and, be sure to check out her layouts using SomethingBlue designs here.
